Grilled Bronzino

Herb and lemon-stuffed Bronzino on the grill for the Feast of the 7 Fishes and Beyond!

If you love to grill, and love to eat, this recipe is for you! It's easy and delicious and fun to make anytime of year, but especially around the Holidays.

Italian-Americans traditionally cook the Feast of the 7 Fishes on Christmas Eve. The tradition stems from 20th-century Italian-American immigrants who—homesick for the land they left behind—combined classic Italian dishes with seafood. The sea was a representation of the connection between their home country and new one.

Now that your mouth is watering, here is the simple recipe:

What you'll need:

  • 2 Bronzino - cleaned by your fish mongerer

  • 3 lemons

  • Fresh herbs - thyme, sage, rosemary, parsley

  • Olive oil

  • Salt & Pepper

Let's get cookin':

  • First heat your grill.

  • Next, my secret trick is that I grill the lemon slices first! Slice two lemons and grill the slices.

  • Stuff the grilled lemons and herbs into the fish cavity.

  • Coat fish in olive oil, salt & pepper.

  • Place fish on the grill for 6 - 8 minutes per side.

  • Cut the 3rd lemon and squeeze over fish before serving hot!

Enjoy!

Wishing you lots of LOVE & YUM this Holiday season and beyond!
