A quick recipe for a Papaya Cleanse that flushes out your gut, gets rid of harmful toxins and naturally helps you lose weight.
Papaya is a funny not-so-little fruit. It is sweet, tart and full of nutrients that help ease digestion. Medical News Today listed MANY possible health benefits to consuming papaya fruit - like "...a reduced risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, aiding in digestion, improving blood glucose control in people with diabetes, lowering blood pressure, and improving wound healing.".
For my weight-loss clients, or those with low motility, I recommend a 1x per week (for 1 month to start) Papaya Cleanse. It's easy and safe, but if it makes you feel sick, or throw up, please discontinue and reach out to a medical provider. You may have something more severe going on that needs to be addressed. Respect and love your body. If you are allergic to any of the ingredients below, do not do this cleanse!
Here's the recipe:
30 Minutes AFTER breakfast (not lunch, not dinner) - use your blender to blend together:
600 ml filtered water
2 big slices of fresh papaya (no seeds)
5 tablespoons of ORGANIC aloe vera juice
2 teaspoons local honey *diabetics can replace this with another sweetener
1 teaspoon ceylon cinnamon
Drink within 5 minutes - I sometimes put it over ice and drink it with a straw.
Be gentle on your behind as you will be going to the bathroom more frequently after drinking the cleanse.
Drink 40 - 60oz of water afterwards throughout the day.
This cleanse can be a very helpful addition to the Small Hinges 10 Week Program, or to any diet or nutritional programs you are enrolled in. But alone, it will not do much. Your optimal wellness is in your hands... eat cleaner, fresh foods, and exercise for the best results!
